Decorations

State decorations are offered to Romanian citizens for exceptional service to the Romanian State and Romanian People, for heroic acts during military service and for special achievements in a specific area of activity.

They can also be awarded to military units for outstanding deeds at peacetime or heroic wartime acts.

Foreign citizens can also be awarded for important contributions in the progress of humanity, of world peace and democracy, for the development of  collaboration or frienship relationship with Romania or for remarcable deeds or services to the Romanian State or People.

Decorations are conferred by Decree of the President of Romania.

Star of Romania National Order, in rank of Grand Officer, for civilians

Medical Merit Order in rank of Grand Officer, in peacetime

Educational Merit Order in rank of Grand Officer

Industrial and Commercial Merit Order in rank of Grand Officer

Diplomatic Merit Order in rank of Grand Officer

Agricultural Merit Order in rank of Grand Officer

For Merit National Order in rank of Grand Officer, for civilians

Valour and Faith Order in rank of Grand Officer, Military Award in Peacetime
